Reserve the new SVBONY SV580 with a £50 deposit

£50 is the reservation deposit only. The full UK price is still to be confirmed. Expected delivery: December 2026.

Join the SVBONY UK pre-order list for the SV580 80mm f/4.5 Petzval APO astrograph. Your deposit is credited in full against the final purchase price.

How your reservation works

  1. Pay £50 today to reserve one SV580.
  2. We will contact you when the final UK price is confirmed, and keep you updated ahead of the expected December 2026 delivery.
  3. Decide whether to proceed. If you go ahead, your £50 is deducted from the total and we will explain how and when to pay the remaining balance. The balance will not be charged automatically.
  4. Changed your mind? Contact SVBONY UK to cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of the £50 deposit before paying the balance.

This reservation does not fix the telescope’s final price or guarantee a particular delivery date or first-batch allocation. No telescope is dispatched when the deposit is paid. Any delivery charge will be confirmed with the final quotation before you decide to proceed.

A wide-field astrograph for your imaging rig

The SV580 brings together an 80mm aperture, 360mm focal length and fast f/4.5 focal ratio. SVBONY specifies a six-element, four-group Petzval APO design with two ED elements and an integrated field flattener, supporting a 44mm image circle.

That short focal length is a useful starting point for framing expansive nebulae and star fields. Your camera’s sensor size will determine the precise framing; mount, camera and other imaging equipment should be chosen to suit your intended targets.

Manufacturer-announced specifications

Aperture 80mm
Focal length 360mm
Focal ratio f/4.5
Optical design Petzval APO; 6 elements in 4 groups; dual ED glass
Field correction Built-in field flattener
Image circle 44mm; designed for full-frame and APS-C imaging

We will add confirmed package contents, dimensions, weight and connection details when available. Please check the final specification before buying adapters or other accessories.

Camera framing at 360mm

The examples below show the approximate sky coverage for three sensor sizes. These are calculated geometric fields of view, not measured corner-performance or illumination claims.

Sensor format Example sensor dimensions Approximate field of view
Full frame 36 × 24mm 5.72° × 3.82°
APS-C example 23.5 × 15.7mm 3.74° × 2.50°
Small square sensor example 11.3 × 11.3mm 1.80° × 1.80°

Sensor dimensions vary between cameras. Use your camera’s actual active sensor dimensions when planning a composition. These fields suit wide-field imaging; smaller galaxies and planetary detail generally benefit from longer focal lengths.

Image scale and camera selection

At the native 360mm focal length, 3.76µm pixels give a calculated image scale of approximately 2.15 arcseconds per pixel. For comparison, 2.9µm pixels give 1.66 arcseconds per pixel and 4.63µm pixels give 2.65 arcseconds per pixel. These are unbinned sampling figures, not a guarantee of resolved detail; seeing, focus and tracking also affect the result.

Understanding the full-frame image circle

A 36 × 24mm sensor has a diagonal of approximately 43.3mm, which fits within the manufacturer-stated 44mm image circle. Camera adapters and filters still need sufficient clear aperture to avoid clipping the light cone. Flat-field calibration remains useful, and full-frame coverage does not itself guarantee identical illumination or star shapes across the sensor.

Focusing and imaging-train planning

SVBONY lists compatibility with EAF focusing systems and imaging accessories. Exact motor brackets, adapter threads, focuser travel and spacing instructions have not yet been confirmed here. Do not assume a standard 55mm spacing requirement or that a particular adapter is included.

The integrated field correction means a separate field flattener is not required for the advertised native configuration. A suitable tracking mount, camera and compatible connections are still needed to build a working imaging rig.

Optical specifications and general compatibility are based on SVBONY’s SV580 announcement. Field-of-view and sampling figures above are our calculations using the announced 360mm focal length.
